Andrew has had a full week of celebration for his first birthday!
It started with Grandmother and Grandfather Browne visiting him in NJ to help while his Momma was in England for the week and his Daddy had to spend a night in PA for work. It was a fun time for him spent with them through the week that culminated in a "mini" party for him Friday night.
We all had a lot of fun watching Andrew with his first little something sweet to try in the form of an Elmo cupcake! It was piled high with icing and sure did crumble all over him so well!
His next step in his week-long birthday celebration (not including all of the individual singing of happy birthday all through the week making him smile, laugh, and sway/bounce to the song) was his birthday cake (sweet item two!) on Tuesday, January 23 (his actual birthday).
Momma had a little cake made up for him and Tuesday Momma, Andrew and I celebrated with a cake, a candle and lots of singing after a little dinner. While he had a long day and was v
ery tired already, he sure did enjoy smashing and experimenting with his cake. He got it EVERYWHERE! It was awesome! Just to see his little eyes light up and giggle after looking at Momma and Daddy for "approval." He had so much fun, even while he was in the tub (both Andrew and Momma were covered with icing that didn't quite land on the tray of his high chair.
The third and final part of Andrew's birthday was a party on January 27, this past Saturday with some of our friends in the area. We had several friends and their children come and help us sing happy birthday over some dinner and yet another cake! Our house was buzzing with children aged: 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6! We had some fun watching everyone bounce and run around with balloons, balls, and even some ice cream to get everyone all sugared up and running around the house.
I must say, Andrew stayed up a little later than normal that night, but boy did he sleep well once he let go of that last balloon for the night! He was so cute crawling around after the other big kids and trying to do everything that they were doing.
We can hardly believe that an entire year has passed since he came into our world and made our lives more centered on what really matters.
We love you Andrew!
