Snow in Oct!

Been sleeting for most of the morning, and now for the last hour the snow is sticking! Hope the roads are ok as I am sure salt trucks will not be out for this one!

After running around to doctors' appointments on Friday we went past IKEA to purchase a bed frame for Andrew's mattress. Now that it's getting cold, we figured it would be nice to get him off the floor!

So after running to doctors' appointments again on Saturday we headed home to build Andrew's new Kura bed. Also, as you can see in the picture, we've begun work on our basement. The builders started last week with demolition. Andrew loves the fact that he can now ride his tricycle all around the empty basement with little impediment. He took a break from bike riding to help Daddy in building his new bed.

Once all major segments were put together, the final assembly took place in Andrew's room. Andrew loved the final product and was ready to go to bed... prehaps not sleep... as soon as Daddy finished with the last screw!



The bed will also flip over and become a mini-bunk bed for when Andrew gets a bit older.

Mexico

We planned a trip to Mexico for our 10 year anniversary. While we were able to go, our trip did not quite go as planned... We'll post pictures and stories later. The short summary is Nathan's eye got infected and we flew home early. Still awaiting a final outcome on Nathan's eye, so prayers for healing are much appreciated.

After a long and very productive day packing up the basement we are all pooped! But what better way to start the evening of winding down than a roaring fire with Madeline all bundled up on the porch?

While 'helping' Daddy empty out the shed, Andrew really got interested with the grass seed spreader... He pushed it around the back yard for nearly the whole afternoon! From one side to another, around a tree, and the fire pit and then back again!

It was tough 'helping' so much! He was tired on Saturday night.

Andrew wanted to sit on the tractor but a sign on it told us not to (it's the farm's working tractor). So he was a little inventive and sat on the tire rim!

Saturday morning after working away in the basement packing and moving our stuff in preparation for our construction Andrew and Daddy took a trip to the recycling center that Intel set up for electronics down the street and just as we drove up Andrew fell asleep! So I took a drive down to Chester and went to our favorite orchard and cider mill to get doughnuts and some cider.

Andrew and Daddy ate a doughnut and a cider dog while watching all of the people around enjoying the weather.

We took these last pictures on October 4th, the weekend we emptied the basement into the shed and upstairs nooks and crannies so demolition could begin.

Daddy took Madeline in the Bjorn and Andrew by our side for a hike in the woods down to the creek. Gives us some time to have some fun and a few minutes for Momma to pack in peace!
