While Madeline was wondering around the park, Andrew took off like a rocket and went running up the stairs of the bleechers of the park. He was so funny running around the different levels and sitting on each of the benches just trying each of the out.

We decided that the top most bench was the most comfortable (of course!).

Andrew, Madeline and I went to the park a few weekends ago and Madeline surely enjoyed just wandering around and exploring the big new world at the park.

Andrew really is a pretty good driver considering his experience so far.

He has driven the car both at home as well as at school in the parking lot (as this picture is of).

Well, not so much driving as pretending to drive, but Daddy sure is tempted to find a HUGE abandoned lot some day!

Andrew wanted to take Little Puppy to the play area after pictures last week. They had a lot of fun, but Little Puppy tired out pretty early on and couldn't keep up with Andrew and his two new friends at the play area, so she sat with Daddy as Andrew played away.

Mother's Day Weekend

Friday I was able to join Madeline at 2:30pm for books and songs in her class with a few other mothers, then join Andrew in his class for an afternoon tea.

In the Infant room, Madeline and all the little babies were dancing around to the music and shaking their instruments. For books, each settled into someone's lap to listen to Ms. Danielle read stories.

For the Tiger room tea, it was complete with colored sprinkle sugar cookies, extra gooey rice crispy treats, and chocolate chip cookies. Yum! Andrew was quite a gentleman, getting me a napkin and keeping it full of all kinds of treats.

Saturday we took advantage of the day before Mother's Day to go out to breakfast at the Original Pancake House. Always a favorite of ours. Then the rest of Saturday and Sunday spent outside, Saturday with a party and playing at the park and Sunday with preparing the containers on the back porch for this year's flowers.

With gorgeous weather and a fabulous family, it was really a wonderful weekend.

Once back on the trail, we wanted to keep eating our goldfish snack and have a little water from our nalgene.

After a while hiking with Daddy, it was time to sit down with him by a little lake and enjoy the view.

Though, I think that Andrew enjoyed watching the chipmunks playing on the log more than he did sitting and relaxing with Daddy.

Andrew wanted to stop after a couple of miles and stretch his legs for a bit. He was a good little hiker, if a little speed challenged. But considering the scale of his legs to mine, I think he kept up just fine.

Andrew and I got a chance to hit the trail today and we took it. A bit chilly, but we were able to get in a couple of miles anyway!

Bronx Zoo

First steps!

Madeline is a big, walking, girl now! She took her first solo steps on Thursday, and climbed the steps all the way up for the first time on Friday. She's been a busy little girl!

Bad Batman Butterfly

This is a combination of Batman, butterfly wings, and a foam sword. (thus the name)

Andrew and Daddy made peanut butter cookies tonight. He is quite the mix-master and really enjoys cooking now.

Batman, little Batman, Batman girl, & Batman boy

We have many Batmen in our house. Also, many Spidermen and Supermen. Overall, just the full superhero crew. As Andrew has designated each of us...

Andrew = Batman, Spiderman, or Superman... depending on which superhero costume he is wearing.

The rest of us as follows:

Madeline = Little Batman, Spiderman, or Superman (see above)
Momma = "Superhero" girl
Daddy = "Superhero" boy

And so we all fall into line. Madeline especially is turning into quite a good sidekick as you can see in the pictures below (the cape she is wearing was dug out of the laundry and put on by Andrew so Madeline could have a costume too).




Also too cute, Andrew has taken to crawling around when playing with Madeline so she can follow him easier. Otherwise he gets too far ahead and she looses focus. So you'll see Andrew take off crawling in one direction, then a giggling Madeline following quickly behind!

Basement - 1 week to go!

Everything is now almost completed with the basement. We are waiting for final inspections, installation of door handles, and final clean up next week, then it's all ours!

As you can see from our pictures, we got the TV hung late this week, and Nathan has been finishing off the network/cable lines. Andrew & Madeline got the first viewing of the new TV with a Sesame Street show while we were working downstairs.
