Momma validates Grandad's menu choice.

It's a little late to the blog, but three weekends ago we went on a family outing to our favorite apple orchard and got the classics for a crisp Fall morning: Hot cider, fresh baked still warm apple pie, and doughnuts. Momma and Daddy enjoyed it all and had a great time with Andrew. Unfortunately, we were out and didn't think to bring along the camera, so Andrew's first visit was not documented (geez Dad, letting us down!).

So the following weekend we repeated the trip, this time with Andrew AND camera in tow. We repeated all of the steps (cider, pie(s), and doughnuts), but this time when Daddy was sent back to the truck to retrieve some more warm items for Andrew and Momma he was greeted by an ear to ear smile on Andrew and a giggling Momma sitting in front of him with a partially eaten cider doughnut!

So what immediately comes to mind are all of the conversations where Daddy's own father was brought up because he had the idea; not the execution, but the idea, of giving a jelly doughnut to Andrew's cousin Elizabeth! Daddy had to laugh as Andrew was obviously enjoying his little bits of doughnut and Momma was practically glowing at the possibility of another sweet tooth in the family!

It was a good tie by all, and Andrew will undoubtedly be trying all sorts of doughnuts in his life, but I wanted to document that it was Momma who drew first doughnut in the war for Andrew's affections!
