Doctor visit number three.

On Thursday Andrew had his third visit and it was his first visit where he got his shots. Fortunately I was able to tag along with Mom and Andrew for the visit. I am thankful every time I can be part of something like this with the whole family!

First we went in and settled down when the nurse came in to help take his measurements. Now he was 90% for height and weight last visit with a head circumference at 75%. After getting him weighed and measured up he was still at 75% for head circumference and was 90% for height, but for his chubby little legs they pushed his weight slightly off the chart!

Now one thing in his defense to offer up is that he did have a wet diaper and once the nurse left we changed him and weighed the diaper so he would have been back on had the diaper been changed, but then again he did just weigh that prior to walking into the room! So I guess we are just enjoying our nursing time as much as possible with Momma!

He was 24.5 inches long and 15 lbs 9 ozs with a head circumference of 16.25 inches.

Everything checked out with his development and the doctor was happy with all of his vitals and tests that she ran, so he is just as we thought, the perfect baby! A little Midas Man, and we love every fold and roll!

After the check up he settled down a little and the nurse came in to administer his shots. He had four shots: DTaP, IPV, Hiv, Prevnar. She game him two to a leg and boy were we all in for a dose of little Andrew's dislike for big bad needles!

As soon as the first one pricked his leg he let out a baby blood curdling yell and his whole little head turned so many shades of red it nearly turned purple. Momma was covering him and helping to sooth as much as she could but he knew that he did NOT like the shots one bit!

The nurse gave them as quickly as she could so that it was one bad episode instead of four separate ones, but he sure didn't care for the shots at all. Momma and I felt awful the whole time, but we pulled through once he calmed down a little bit.

When all was said and done Andrew had four little band-aids, a box of baby Tylenol, and some paperwork that explains all of the possible side effects of the shots.

We were all glad when it was all over...
